Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
This is the privacy policy for Travelling London, operated by Jack Starr. I run a small tour guide business from London, and I take your privacy seriously. This document explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it.
Who I Am
I'm Jack Starr, a sole trader based at 54 Highbury Park, London N5 2XG, United Kingdom. You can reach me at [email protected] or +44 7758 688241. I'm the data controller for any personal information you share with me.
What I Collect
When you book a tour or contact me, I'll ask for your name, email address, phone number, and sometimes your accommodation details so I know where to meet you. If you're booking for a group, I might ask about mobility requirements or dietary restrictions to plan the tour properly.
When you visit this website, my hosting provider automatically logs technical data like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you looked at. This helps me understand if the site is working properly.
Why I Need This
I use your contact details to confirm bookings, send itineraries, answer questions, and occasionally follow up after tours to see how it went. I keep booking records for accounting purposes and to remember your preferences if you book again.
I won't send you marketing emails unless you specifically ask to hear about new tours or seasonal offerings. Even then, you can unsubscribe anytime.
Who Sees Your Data
I don't sell or rent your information to anyone. The only third parties who might access your data are my payment processor (when you pay online), my email provider (to send confirmations), and my accountant (for tax records). All of them are bound by their own privacy obligations.
How Long I Keep It
I keep booking records for six years after your tour, because that's what UK tax law requires. Contact form messages get deleted after twelve months unless they're part of an ongoing conversation.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask me to show you what data I hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, delete your information (where legally possible), or stop processing it for marketing. Just email me and I'll sort it within thirty days.
If you think I've handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though I'd appreciate the chance to fix things first.
Cookies
This website uses cookies. There's a separate page explaining exactly what they do — see the Cookies Policy.
Changes
If I change this policy significantly, I'll update the date at the top and post a notice on the homepage. For minor tweaks, I'll just update this page.
